Stephen Curry, the esteemed basketball player from the Golden State Warriors, might be making his highly-anticipated return from injury as early as Friday against Minnesota. His recent leg injury had put him on the sidelines for five games, but his full recovery and return to the practice floor are promising signs for both the player and his fans.
Stephen Curry’s Recovery Journey
Over the last few days, Stephen Curry has been working tirelessly to regain his range of motion in his injured left thigh. This injury had momentarily stalled his activities on the basketball court, but his determination and resilience have seen him fully resume his activities with the Golden State Warriors. NBA reports that the 37-year-old two-time MVP is predicted to return for Friday’s game against Minnesota, following a five-game absence due to a left quadriceps contusion and muscle strain.
Warriors’ Performance in Curry’s Absence
Despite Curry’s absence, the Golden State Warriors maintained a respectable performance, securing a 3-2 win. The team is now looking forward to their star player’s return, especially as Stephen Curry is expected to play alongside his younger brother, Seth Curry, for the first time.
Curry’s Optimism Towards His Return
Expressing his feelings about his imminent return, Curry said, “Feeling great. I had a good rehab week and the guys took care of business on the trip, so that was great to see the energy coming back. I’m happy to practice the last couple days to see how I feel. After these last two sessions, I’m pretty optimistic.”
Rehabilitation and Recovery
During his recovery period, Curry spent 4 to 6 hours daily at Chase Center with the medical and training staffs, working diligently to regain his health. Curry sustained his injury during Golden State’s match against the Houston Rockets on Nov. 26. His recovery involved overcoming intense pain in the bottom area of his quad, moving his leg the way he needs to, and rebuilding some lost strength not just in the strained muscle but in the surrounding areas as well.
Curry’s Take on His Team’s Performance
While he was rehabilitating, Curry’s teammates upheld their performance, which didn’t go unnoticed by the star player. He was particularly impressed with their 123-91 win against the Bulls on Sunday. “You just want guys playing with confidence, and that’s what it ended up being like in Chicago,” Curry said. “It was great to see. Everybody felt involved, everybody was playing, reading the game and taking the shots that you’re supposed to take. So, nothing should change when I’m out there.”
