Thousands of chargers sold at major chains across Canada have been recalled

Published on

Thousands of chargers sold at major chains across Canada have been recalled. The announcement came from Health Canada, stating that the recall is due to safety concerns over the overheating of a particular wireless charger brand sold at Winners, HomeSense, and Marshalls. The Isla Rae Magnetic Wireless Charger, which is compatible with MagSafe, has been identified as the product in question.

Chargers Recalled Due to Safety Risk

Health Canada issued a statement on Tuesday, Dec. 15, outlining the recall of the Isla Rae Magnetic Wireless Charger. The chargers reportedly have the potential to overheat, thereby presenting a possible fire and burn hazard. Consumers have been urged to stop using the recalled products immediately and to return them to any HomeSense, Winners, or Marshalls location to receive a refund. Health Canada has emphasized the importance of not selling, redistributing, or giving away the recalled product.

Reports of Incidents Related to the Product

As of Nov. 26, the company had received five reports of incidents involving mild burns due to the product. TJX Canada, the company that imported the product, reported that 7,000 of these affected chargers were sold in Canada between June 2024 and April 2025.
