Toronto Blue Jays players trying to recruit Kyle Tucker in Instagram comments

Published on

The Toronto Blue Jays players are demonstrating a unique approach in their efforts to recruit top free-agent Kyle Tucker. In addition to their conventional techniques, they are resorting to Instagram comments to woo the star right-fielder. This unconventional recruitment drive, led notably by Myles Straw and Tyler Heineman, is keeping the Blue Jays in the news and adding a new dimension to the world of sports recruitment.

Players Leading the Recruitment Drive

The Toronto Blue Jays players have made it clear they want Kyle Tucker to join their ranks. Former teammate Myles Straw initiated the recruitment drive on Instagram back in November, suggesting that Tucker should sign with Toronto so that Straw could offer his babysitting services for Tucker’s newborn baby. This was followed by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. making his pitch in the comments section of one of Tucker’s posts.

Heineman Joins the Bandwagon

Backup catcher Tyler Heineman is the latest Blue Jays player to join the recruitment drive on Instagram. Tucker recently posted a photo of himself golfing with the caption “Anyone up for a round,” to which Heineman responded with a suggestion for a golf course in Toronto. “Yea. TPC Toronto. See you there,” Heineman commented, subtly promoting the city as a potential new home for Tucker.

Support from TPC Toronto

Interestingly, the official TPC Toronto account seemed to appreciate Heineman’s comment, leaving their own message on the post, inviting Tucker to try out their course. “See you on the first tee,” they wrote, adding fuel to the recruitment efforts of the Blue Jays players.

Straw and Tucker: A Potential Reunion

Myles Straw seems particularly keen on a reunion with his former Houston Astros teammate, Kyle Tucker. He joined the comment section again with a simple “Let’s go” message for Tucker, suggesting his eagerness for the star player to join the Blue Jays.

Will the Blue Jays Land Tucker?

The Blue Jays have been linked with Tucker since free agency opened last month. Initially, they seemed the favourites to sign him but have also been linked with Boston Red Sox’s Alex Bregman. They are also attempting to secure Bo Bichette with an extension. With Tucker being the highest-profile free agent, his decision could potentially influence other player moves during this offseason.

Tucker: A Valuable Addition to the Blue Jays

Last season, Tucker delivered impressive performances with the Chicago Cubs, hitting 22 home runs and recording 73 RBIs. His addition to the Blue Jays’ lineup would significantly bolster their batting order, making them one of the most formidable teams in baseball. However, it remains to be seen if the Blue Jays’ unique recruitment efforts will pay off with Tucker’s signature.
