Several Toronto Blue Jays players, fresh off a hard-fought 2025 season, decided to recharge and rejuvenate by linking up for an off-season vacation. The group, which included some current players and a few who are currently free agents, seemed to be in high spirits as they enjoyed the sun and sea in Saint Barthelemy, a French-speaking Caribbean island.
Toronto Blue Jays Players Enjoy Off-Season Vacation
Following a challenging season and the much-celebrated wedding of Bo Bichette, the players decided to take a break together. Photos posted by Taylor Gausman, wife of Blue Jays player Kevin Gausman, showed the players and their significant others enjoying their holiday. The group seemed to be having a great time, prompting Taylor to caption the post, “Same time next year?”
Blue Jays fans were thrilled to see their favourite players bonding off the field. The post received numerous comments, with many expressing their love for the team and anticipation for the upcoming season. As one fan aptly put, “Blue Jays crew is the best crew! I love this! You all share a special bond. Better together. I hope you all had a wonderful vacation. Looking forward to the 2026 season.”
Current and Former Blue Jays Players in Attendance
The vacation crew included Ernie Clement, Jeff Hoffman, Shane Bieber, Kevin Gausman, and 2025 Blue Jays who are currently free agents: Max Scherzer and Chris Bassitt. Scherzer and Bassitt have previously expressed interest in returning to the Blue Jays, though recent signings may have made that less likely.
Future of the Team
Despite recent signings of Dylan Cease, Cody Ponce, and relief pitcher Tyler Rogers, the Blue Jays appear to be far from done with their off-season moves. The team is still reportedly heavily linked with four-time All-Star Kyle Tucker and are also considering re-signing Bo Bichette. While Scherzer and Bassitt have received interest on the free-agent market, they have yet to finalize any deals.
This off-season vacation not only allowed the players to relax but also to strengthen their bond, which is an essential element in any successful team. As anticipation builds for the 2026 season, fans will be watching closely to see how these off-field dynamics translate into on-field performances.
