Man identified in Oshawa stabbing death, police make arrest in homicide, search for 2nd suspect

Published on

Following the tragic stabbing incident in Oshawa, police have identified the deceased victim and made an arrest in connection with the homicide. However, the search for a second suspect continues. The police are now seeking the public’s assistance in locating this man, identified as Michael Waterman, 44, of Oshawa, who has been charged with second-degree murder.

Police Seek Assistance in Finding Michael Waterman

The Durham Regional Police have been actively pursuing leads to apprehend Michael Waterman, 44, who is believed to be involved in the fatal stabbing incident that took place in Oshawa. The police department has issued a public appeal for assistance, hoping that someone may have information about Waterman’s whereabouts. A photograph of Waterman has been released to aid in his identification, as seen below.

Charges and Investigation

Waterman is wanted on charges of second-degree murder in connection with the stabbing death. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation, but the severity of the charges indicates a significant level of alleged involvement. The police urge anyone who might have information about this case or Waterman’s location to come forward.

Public Urged to Be Cautious

The public has been urged not to approach Waterman if they see him but to call 911 immediately. Though he is not considered a risk to the public at large, he is potentially dangerous due to the serious charges levied against him.

Remembering the Victim

While the search for Waterman continues, the community mourns the loss of the stabbing victim. His identity has not been released to the public, but his family has been notified. The police have asked the public to respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time.

Community’s Role in Public Safety

In situations like these, the community plays an important role in maintaining public safety. By staying vigilant and reporting any information that could lead to Waterman’s capture, the public can assist the police in their efforts to bring justice to the victim and his family. Anybody with information is encouraged to contact Durham Regional Police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
